*BIG SIGH* It's nice having GT back.
So anyway, hi guys - I had a nice weekend and wanted to ask everyone to tell us about the most fun they've had in the past few weeks.
I started my weekend by going to a Blue Man Group concert. It was a total blast, the music was great and the spectacle was even better. They had this huge drum with a light inside it and it went FLASH when you hit it. I thought, well shoot that's the coolest thing I've seen all year. The Blue Men themselves were great, it was a lot of fun.
After that I had two days off to enjoy the spring-like weather and play with a friend's puppy. His name was Toad.

Well, I spent a couple of days in jail, so that was pretty fun, I guess.
Other than that, I've just been hanging out with good friends, talking and laughing and whatnot.

I just came back from a trip to Phuket, thailand and totally loved it! I tried snorkelling for the first time and although i'm really scared of the waters, but i gotta say, i kinda enjoyed it!
Got myself a new tattoo there :) It's a snake and it's shedding now.
and i'm gonna go watch the movie L (character from death note) later.. and i'm so excited.

Watching pictures with everyone of my youthclimbinggroup from the last 7 years , very sentimental, had to laugh with everyone, funny and amazing how much people can change :)
Had a great time, everybody was telling stories about our 'old days' ;)
Made my heart warm and fuzzy, and made me realise how much I enjoy beeing in a group thats so close and attached to one and other.

Sometimes it's really hard to tell with you when you're messing with us and when you're serious. you have this habit us saying things like "I went to jail" so matter of factly...like it's just another normal experience in your life.
So did you really, and if so for what reason?
I won't tell anyone else.

Yeah, but it was more like a little over 24 hours. It would have only been about eight hours or so but I refused to give more than one person as a personal bond reference.
Basically, I was at a bar, and getting drunk which I don't do that often anymore, but I was that night, because dag nabbit, it'd been a while and it was an exhausting week so me and a few friends went out to get a little intoxicated. We had a sober-designated driver who was drinking water all night, bless her heart. I stepped right outside of the bars backdoor for a smoke, and just as I was finishing up and walking back into the bar, an undercover TABC officer walks out and gives me a citation for public intoxication. So, I got a smart mouth with him about how ridiculous it was, because I wasn't causing a commotion or passing out or planning on driving, and asked him if he's noticed all of the cars driving by that can't even stay in their lanes and if he's thought about maybe worrying about those people, etc etc, so he arrested me and took me to Travis County Jail for being a "smart mouth jackass." I was a smart mouth jackass, no denying that. Since Austin has such a big problem with drunken driving and drunken fights downtown, I really think they should be more focused on that than guys who've had six beers who merely stepped outside for a smoke at a rundown dive bar on south Lamar.
Could of been worse. I don't know if they are still doing it? But they were here in Austin actually citing people inside of bars for public intoxication. Imagine that, intoxicated people in bars.
So basically, my sacrasm and smartassery got me in more trouble than I was in. I would have just had a ticket or something, otherwise.
They also didn't like that I told the cameraman for the show Jail/Inside American Jail(whatever its called, it's by the same people that did COPS) that he looked a little like a bearded Liza Minnelli. I mean come on, he laughed. It was all in good fun.

28 hours is still better than 17 weeks, though. Boy what a bummer. A man can only eat so much bologna sandwhiches, you know.
Tomorrow is Friday! I will be working from 8am to 10pm :( but after that, it's friends time! No idea what is on the agenda for tomorrow night, but I'm sure I'll be doing something fun with my best mates in the world. Saturday a buddy of mine I haven't seen since August will probably be hanging out with me, so that will be great to see him and catch up on the last few months.

Thanks, meshie. Sounds like you've got some really strict cops in Austin. My neice and her husband live there, and my older sister has purchased a lot to build on so one of these days I have to make my first visit to that longhorn town. When I do, and we get together, remind me not to have us go out and have a drink together..unless it's a tall glass of refreshing unsweetened iced tea. : )
*I wonder if kuro does this in Denver?

So how does this affect future plans with the boyfriend, assuming he is staying in Canada?

Well, UBC was where I wanted to go...partly cause I wanted to stay near him, partly because its a master's program (not PhD, like all the American schools are--i'm not ready for that much of a commitment yet). An added perk is that UBC is way more affordable, even as an international student, than the UCs I applied to.
So everything's good! I get to stay in Canada! I'm growing increasingly fond of this place.

its okay. I get them confused sometimes too. I need to stop going to schools that have the same letters in their initials.
Berkeley is UCB. University of British Columbia is UBC.
Their colors are the same too, I think.

Went snowboarding and realized I'm no longer self conscious when I fall on my face, or my ass, or my face then my ass then spin helpless out of control and end up on my face. Frankly, I've found a new peace in falling. When I fall, I know whatever I just tried to do, didn't work. So I should try something different next time. Educational it is.
Not that it matters...

Well it matters to me. Snowboarding is for hooligans, and not a sport upholders of the law should be involved in. I hope you're not out there dressed all hip in those loose snowboarding pants, wearing a funky hat.
Ditch the snowboard, Kuro, and strap on a pair of real skis. Then when you fall down you can do it with dignity.

Congrats Libra on getting in that school.
Congrags Aeon on the sex.
And yeah, they are pretty strict about drinking related things sometimes, although it's mostly DWI.....unless you're just unlucky, like I was. Otherwise, I don't really know how strict they are here, as I've never had a problem or any real contact other than smiling when I walk past one downtownt or something before this.

We got a foot of snow Friday night. Very rare to get that much snow around here, maybe once every 10yrs or so.
I'm the only guy in the neighborhood with a snow blower, so I spent most of yesterday clearing all my neighbors driveways for them, being the nice guy that I am you know.
After I was finished, my hip and lower back felt like I had been hit by a truck, so I spent the rest of the day on the couch with coffee and Ibuprofen.

Must have been the same storm that gave us snow here in atlanta, hiffer. Not as much as you, but for a while it was coming down heavy with large white flakes. So weird that 2 days before it was sunny and 70 out.

I sometimes feel like that after an afternoon of playing tennis. Hell, sometimes I feel like that after an afternoon of watching tennis. : )
*don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour people. Daylight savings hit last night. I like it much better in the fall when you gain an hour. In the spring I always feel like someone stole a part of my weekend.

My weekend by William Q. Pilgrim aged 26 and 3/4s
I got a hiding this weekend. Wales were playing Ireland in Rugby and unpredictably Wales won. I was full of Piss and vinegar and start mouthing off.
But considering i linger in and around the Cardiff (the capital of Wales) area I was outnumberd about 50,000 to 1. Most people took my capering in good humour but a gringo near Dempseys bar (Which is in Mat_J's territory but that sunovabitch was in Engerland on an away mission) give me a five fingered discount on dental work.
Darn tooter loosened my left canine and gave me a black eye, I don't know what happened to him as some bouncers sperated us but i did manage to get a few in, and as this is Grand Bretagne i got away scot free (unlucky Mesharoo).
I was most put out, mostly because well i don't much like that fighting, and second this dude was a Sikh! I love Sikhs if i wasn't a commited Atheist Sikhism would be my secondary religion of choice so that man has dissapointed me greatly on what seemed such a righteous religion... Oh and to add sour grapes to insult, injury and battery the motherfucker was an English Sikh so wasn't even being targetted by my japery!!
