  • She, who is the ghost girl.
    Megan Perrin
    4 Jun 2002

There's a ghost in the mirror.
With my face she stares back at me, full of sorrow, of longing. She dreams dreams that others haven't and follows unknown paths. She cries for untold reasons.
With my eye she looks at the worldand finds horror, dispair, and pain.she cries for it and wonders how to heal it, remove it.
with my ears she hears te shouts of innocents slain. The cries of everyone ring in her head and it brings tears to her eyes. She hears not laughter or singing.
With my hands she touches the sick and dying, wanting to drain their pain and anguish with her fingertips. Insted she just feels the trembling of their bodies and the breaking of their hearts.
With my mouthshe recites the names of the dead and dying. Over and over she is forced to speak them, each bringing back the memories of their life of hurting. Tears fall freely and unstopping for each life she says.
The ghost in the mirror knows the ultimate pain, can see the farthest in to the past, present, and future. She is unable to truly love but has been loving for as long as she can remember. She holds everything in her hands and wishes she could give it all back and let some one else carry her burden, but to no avail. she has been apointed by those higher than herself to carry the world on her shoulder and never flinch from it's weight.
it's her and her alon that knows all and sees all , but can't say a word. Thats how it has to be for now and always.
She is the silent girl in every woman who dreams. She's the pushed back feelings, forgotten or far away loves, broken hopes and shattered dreams, the most hidden parts of us. That's the girl, the ghost in the mirror.
