Obsidian
Patrick Goins
19 Nov 2002
I Children of a lingered God Spawn of some forgotten seed Trapped here in a nightmare world Left alone and chained in mortality Live Tear stained and obsidian Followed in a curtain call Cut short by this weary fate Memoirs told so whimsical In Knowledge of these relapses Fallen into utter darkness Held fast by this mortal coil To suffer here in silence A Delusional to believe a lie A lie of utter happiness A release from these black thoughts Of wandering and restlessness World Suffering drags along so slowly Made slower by the work of fools Made painful by a memory Lost in time but hardly gone Painted Open up a black scorched door Walk along in madness Painted obsidian by remembrance Scorched and frayed in sadness Black Pray a million empty prayers To some empty cerulean sky Scream aloud and choke inside As I walk along and die
The darkest thing I've ever written...
