The leaves have fallen,
The flowers have died,
How lovely it all is,
How calming, how soothing,
How right.
The snow has fallen,
The water has frozen,
We can go ice-skating,
We can go sleighing,
How right.
The fire is warm,
The chocolate warmer,
We can sit down and look
The snow and the ice,
The leaves and flowers,
How right.
Underneath it all,
We'll all die a little,
Our hearts will break a little,
But we'll smile, we'll laugh,
And the leaves and flowers are still there,
And the tv is quietly blaring,
And we'll continue smiling,
How right.
