    I watch with closed eyes,
An ancient legacy of my people,
    Across a vast ocean,
    Beyond a great city,
    Past the wide plains,
To where the Earth starts again.

Logically in my reborn western sense,
    I cannot connect between,
The flat world and the round.
But navigating by an ancient compass,
    Dormant in my mind,
The 'Old world' begins to make sense in the new.

    Time has always travelled backwards
What is the sense of a grand machine,
That exists only to destroy itself?
Still I travel beneath a cool Ultramarine sky
A vast bird, oldest seafarer, carrier of my soul
No frost sparkles on our wingtips tonight.

And for the second time a son of Dewi lands here,
Silent as it was before, every hour is night,
The heavens stand watch holding a curved lunar sabre,
I reach out with a tired hand,
To touch your face and reassure,
    That only peace can follow.
