deadened nights
20 Jun 2003
the wolves come out at night
to sing their songs of love
like sirens through the air
on wing of a blood red dove
and the stars won't shine
cause the rain won't die
and the sun has gone away
welcome to these deadened nights
that lead your heart astray
behind the back shed drifting
falls the withered shrouded moon
like an error kissed with shame
and every flaw i see in you
and silence hovers lowly
above your dreams of sleep
to kill what you've been wanting
and what you'll never be
and the stars won't shine
cause the rain won't die
and the sun has gone away
welcome to these deadened nights
that lead your heart astray
