    The TV's loud,
    Over the smoke cloud,
There's a docu on the Turin Shroud,
And the dog's revolution has been cowed.

In winter my skin turned white,
Came home at three looking a fright,
My big mouth got me in a fight,
So I went for a smoke 'til dawns first light.

The TV people came to check we'd paid,
But big man was busy getting laid,
They could have waited 'til their hair greyed,
But big man kept up the charade.

Me and G went down to mass,
But father Green's been at the glass.
At home they said they'd kick my ass,
If I didn't shape up and try and pass.

In Meadow St. the moss is green,
The local people think we're obscene
But god be praised it's where you're seen
If you're living on the local scene.

With a pair of girls in a Sapphic kiss,
The old boys are taking the piss
    I think I'll take a near miss,
'Cause success ain't to do with bliss.

    One evening underneath the moon,
Christ it was more like afternoon,
The skinny guy cooked on a spoon,
And the end of things came too soon.

We sat in the pub at the wake,
Old Ma' Tempus gave us cake,
The drunk guy wouldn't give us a break,
He was drinking there for drinking's sake.

I sat in the shadows far too long,
The jukebox played a Springsteen song,
So I got my coat and raised my frown,
And danced home through this fucking town
    Home to Meadow Street
