    The Dreamer
    5 Feb 2006

God looked into the endless empty void, and decided that it would be better if it were not empty, so He created the Universe to fill it and bring starlight to it. As God gazed at His great creation, He was not satisfied. To decorate the Universe and make it better, He placed a small world at its center. He called the world Earth and covered it with land and great blue oceans. As God looked upon the small brown and blue world, He was not satisfied. He wanted the world He had created to be vibrant and it was not, instead it was dull and lifeless. To make the world better God took stars from the sky and from each one he created a different living creature and filled the world with them, to make the world better. The stars that were left formed patterns of the different kinds of animals, which He called constellations. God was still not satisfied with the world he had created. To make it better, He made plants from the brown dirt and made them rise from the ground, bringing green to His world to feed the animals. As God examined his world He saw that it was very dark. To make it better, He made one of the stars in the sky much brighter than the rest so it would light up His world during the day. God called this star the Sun. He looked at his world during the night and it was too dark. He was still not satisfied, because He could not see any of His creations. To make it better, God made another one of the stars in the sky brighter but not as bright as the Sun. This star, he made only to illuminate the world enough during the night so that He could see everything He had made. He called this star the Moon. As God looked at the world He was not quite satisfied. He felt as if something was missing. All His creations were there but they were wild and without a shepherd. To take care of the animals, God took one last star to create one more creature and called it Human. As God surveyed His world He was still not satisfied. Humans were without a purpose and did not care about the creatures with which they shared the world. As God wondered how He would solve this problem, He stood up and got a cup of coffee. While drinking it, He decided that He needed to have a son. Shortly afterwards, he completely forgot about the world and all its imperfect inhabitants.
