Why do so many of us look for comfort in the night sky? The stars possess great and sublime beauty, but why do look to them for comfort anf for guidance? The mystique of the night sky persisits for there is something wonderously enchanting about night. Looking towards the blackened heavens of night pierced only by glittering points of light can be amazingly peaceful, especially when combined with the calm and eveloping silence night brings. But why does gazing into this vast spread of black oblivion and limitless unknown soothe us? Perhaps, it is because deep within each of us lies an innate knowledge that this is where it all came from, where we all came from; and somewhere in that noctural abyss lies the answer, the answer to the question unspoken and for many unknown. If we all look to the stars long enough, maybe the intrinsic awe we feel when viewing them will be quenched. A star may twinkle just so and we will know why everything is. The answer, inaudible, comes to us in that serenly creeping calm that touches our soul and allays our minds without our knowledge of it entering. As soon as we turn away, the question, the wonder, the longing return and once again we will turn to the night sky for an answer only reached through a long hard gaze into the inky black that is our past. Strange, how a neverending horizon of obscure blackness comforts and gives us the answers to questions we do not hear, but only feel in parts unkown to conscienceness.
